Deafability – Deaf Education and Awareness for Future Sustainability is an Erasmus+ project that connects inclusion and environmental education. Its mission is to make sustainability learning accessible for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals through innovative methods, sign-language-friendly materials and digital tools. We aim to educate trainers and educators working with deaf individuals to ensure that they have skills to teach the deaf about these important topics.
Together, partners from Latvia (UENPD), Italy (A Ruota Libera APS), and Lithuania (LKD) are developing e-learning modules, educational videos, and practical workshops that promote green skills, nature education, and environmental awareness.
By combining research, technology, and community participation, Deafability aims to ensure that deaf learners, their trainers and educators are active participants and leaders in building a more sustainable, inclusive future💚🤟
The Deafability project aims to empower deaf individuals through inclusive sustainability education by creating accessible, sign-language-based learning and teaching methodologies and opportunities for the trainers that work with deaf people.
Its broader goals are to bridge environmental awareness and social inclusion through innovative adult education methods.
